Holography and quantum simulation
Simple many body quantum theories, the so-called Sachdev-Ye-Kitaev model and related tensor models, display many features suggestive of a holographic dual description involving gravity. Such features include an approximate conformal symmetry in the infra red, an extensive entropy at low temperature and maximally chaotic correlation functions.
These models are simple enough that one may hope to experimentally realise them, opening the door to laboratory models of holographic quantum theories. Together with the QUTIS group in Bilbao, I am particularly interested in exploring the digital quantum simulation route to such laboratory tests.
